Oil pulling and On Guard/Clove Essential Oils

Have you ever heard of oil pulling? It's seriously fantastic. I'm going to tell you a story but first I want to explain what oil pulling is and how to do it.
An oil (I prefer coconut oil) is swished around your mouth, for 15-20 minutes. (NO LONGER THAN 20 MINUTES or the bacteria and toxins will be reintroduced into your body.) I haven't done it lately because I have been on the lazy train (Hey, I'm almost 9 months pregnant, it's allowed, right?) but when I was doing it my teeth were whiter and my mouth felt much cleaner! It pulls out toxins and bacteria as you swish, then you spit it into the trash and brush with water.
I prefer this coconut oil because it melts so quickly but as long as its organic you can use what you like best.

Now here is my little story. Well, it's a friend story but I'm using it:P
She has had a toothache for awhile. She has used prescription stuff for it, gone to the dentist, and nothing has seemed to help. Tonight she called my mom asking what to do for it essential oil wise. My mom told her about oil pulling and asked if she had clove oil (the recommended oil to do it with, clove is great for mouth health)

She did not though, so my mom thought about On Guard, which is one of doTERRA's blends that contains clove. She told her to swish the oil in her mouth with a couple drops of On Guard, once to twice a day until it feels better.
Seriously, less than an hour later she got a text that her friend's toothache is GONE! She can't wait for her next dentist appointment to let him know how she made it go away! She is telling everyone about it. Now, she should still oil pull to make sure her body is healing what caused the toothache but the pain is gone!!!

Isn't natural medicine amazing?! I would much rather swish some organic coconut oil and Clove/On Guard Essential oils to kill bad bacteria and keep good bacteria than use mouth wash with all the chemicals that kills both bad and good!

Diaper Rashes

It seems like my daughter has a diaper rash every other day. She has extremely sensitive skin and everything irritates it. I LOVE my concoction of Coconut Oil, doTERRA Lavender Essential Oil, and doTERRA Melaleuca Essential Oil to help with those rashes.
Until last night, I had never met a rash they couldn't help her body heal. It even helps keep my eczema at bay.
Last night though, she developed two different kinds of rashes. A red swollen rash, and a red splotchy bumpy rash. I was using my homemade diaper cream all day and it just wasn't going away. Then my wonderful mother suggested trying some Roman Chamomile.
I added about 5 drops to my jar of diaper cream and slathered it on. (You don't need to slather, a small amount would do, but I tend to overdo it;))
This morning when she woke up, the swollen red rash was gone, and the splotchy bumpy rash was almost completely gone. I can't tell you how much I love knowing that I'm not putting anything on/in her body that will cause her harm in the future. No chemicals for this mama and her babies!

A little more information:
Roman Chamomile has calming and relaxing properties and is reported to have helped with anxiety, depression, insomnia and the related concerns. It is mild enough to use with children (dilute with a carrier) to calm in distressed situations as well as for a high fever, earaches, teething, and to help with tummy aches. It is considered safe to use internally.

Happy Mother's Day!

As a mother to a 6 year old, an almost 3 year old( she turns 3 on Thursday. I will be crying. A lot.), and a 20 month old, I'm not expecting breakfast in bed or gifts. They have no idea what today is supposed to represent.
What I do get is lots of hugs and kisses, and lots of tantrums and kids fighting. I love it. Not that I wouldn't love going out to breakfast or going out, but I'm okay with just being with my children.
